Call of Duty fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of the next game in the series, Black Ops. In the meantime EMG (EnvyMyGift), a special promotions company, is giving fans the chance to pick up the game and a console for free.

The offer takes about 10 seconds to fill out. All you do is enter your email address, and choose whether you want to receive Black Ops with an Xbox360 or PS3. If you’re lucky enough to be selected, you will be contacted by email.

Users and EMG have verified that contest entries are ONLY contacted if they are chosen to receive the free game and console.

All fans are invited to enter and hopefully take down the game for free.

If you are interested, you can enter the contest here.

An increasingly large number of Call of Duty fans are pleading with Activision not to have the M203 Grenade Launcher (commonly called the “noob tube”) in the latest installment of the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The movement has come after rumors spread that Activision planned on not only including the noob tube in Black Ops, but making it even more powerful than in Modern Warfare 2. Activision programmers were considering increasing the blast radius as well as doubling the ammunition from 2 to 4.

It looks like Activision are also considering having every assault rifle in the game have the noob tube attachment by default, unless the player wishes to remove it.

The noob tube is commonly abused by players of low skill level, who use it in excess due to their lack of skill using real guns. It is not uncommon to see new players achieving high kill:death ratios through the use of this weapon.

“I’m a pro level 70 player with every achievement unlocked in Modern Warfare 2,” said one anonymous player. “But I’m sick of all these bitch-ass noobs running around tubing. The weapon is totally overpowered. If those punks at Activision include it in Black Ops I’m going to go to nuke their f***ing offices.”

Indeed, the thought that the noob tube will return in Black Ops has made many pro CoD players extremely nervous.

Perhaps Activision’s reasoning behind increasing the power of the noob tube was to encourage new players into the game. But at this point, we can only speculate whether or not the noob tube will come back-and-improved in Black Ops.

What we do know for sure is that there will be several never seen before weapons in Black Ops, such as a scoped crossbow that fires explosive arrows. A finalized weapon list will be released at a later date.

Call of Duty Black Ops

Call of Duty Black Ops will be the latest installment in Activision’s immensely popular Call of Duty series. The game is planned to be released on PS3, XBOX360, the Wii, Nintendo DS and PC.

The release date is scheduled for 9th November 2010. However, much of the game has already been developed.

The setting of the game is in the Cold War. In fact, Call of Duty games have been set in many different times — the first took place in World War 2, while others like Modern Warfare 2 (the current game in the series) took place in a modern setting.

Hopefully we will see some innovative new weapons and features. One new weapon we’ve heard about that will hopefully make an appearance is a scoped-crossbow that fires explosive arrows, which should be interesting.
